Irvine 2nd Alarm Commercial Fire - June 2nd, 2017
At 4:00 AM Friday morning, the Orange County Fire Authority responded to reports of a structure fire at the Seafood City Supermarket in the 2100 block of Barranca Parkway in Irvine. Crews arriving on scene found heavy smoke showing from the roof of a large strip mall and began an operations to attack the blaze. Due to the heavy smoke and potential hazards from refrigeration equipment a second alarm was requested. The fire was ultimately contained to a refrigerator inside of the business and extinguished within 15 minutes. HazMat Crews and the Orange County Health Department were requested to assist in operations. Irvine PD assisted with traffic control. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
