Irvine Forgery Suspect Pursuit Termination - September 25th, 2016
At approximately 9:30 PM on Sunday, September 25th, 2016, Tustin PD initiated pursuit of a male forgery suspect and one female passenger heading northbound on the I5 near Red Hill.
The suspect failed to yield and the pursuit continued from the northbound I5 to the southbound 55. The suspect exited Edinger and proceeded westbound on Edinger. The suspect made a u-turn at Ritchey and proceeded eastbound Edinger where the suspect turned onto Kensington Park and then proceeded to Tustin Ranch Road.
From Tustin Ranch Road the suspect proceeded southbound passing behind The District at Tustin Legacy and then merging onto southbound Von Karmon while driving on opposing lanes (wrong way).
The suspect foot bailed from the vehicle facing southbound in the northbound lanes of Von Karmon just south of Alton.
Mutual aid from the Orange County Sheriff's Department and Irvine Police Department including 18-Duke-1 responded to set up a perimeter and the male suspect located fleeing via the flood control. With the assistance of Duke-1 the suspect was arrested at McGaw and the flood control channel.
Meanwhile a 960X (felony traffic stop) was conducted on the vehicle and one female occupant was taken into custody and arrested.
Within the vehicle numerous artifacts of forgery were discovered. An investigation is ongoing.
