Irvine Water Rescue/Search - November 26th, 2016
At 7:58 PM on Saturday evening units from the Orange County Fire Authority responded to reports of a female hispanic woman and child trapped in the flood control channel paralleling the NB 261. The woman and child were reportedly last seen southbound in the flood control channel from Irvine Boulevard. No description was available.
Numerous OCFA and Irvine Police Department units responded to assist, setting up checkpoints at each overpass providing a perspective of the flood control channel. After an exhaustive search including one OCFA and one Orange County Sheriff's Department helicopter no persons were located. The search was subsequently called off after just more than one and one half hours.
