Newport Beach Roof Collapse - February 24th, 2017

At 11:27 AM the Newport Beach Fire Department responded to reports of a roof collapse in the 4300 block of Birch Street. Crews arriving on scene found a large awning portion of the roof which had collapsed onto three cars adjacent to the structure. The roof was under construction due to sagging in the days prior. The City Building Department and Police Department will be investigating.
