Newport Garage Fire - November 4th, 2016
At approximately 5:45 PM the Newport Beach Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a garage fire with flames seen at the Bordeaux, a high-end apartment home community located 1 Ambroise.
Upon arrival firefighters located a unit with flames coming from the garage and commenced fire attack. During the course of the response firefighters encountered flammable liquid run-off as well as a dog in an inside closet. The animal was rescued and reunited with it's owned with no injuries.
Initial reports indicate the cause of the fire was a fuel leak from a sedan within the garage which was quickly contained by arriving firefighters. Unit 302 as well as the surrounding apartments were evacuated pending fire attack. It is unclear how many, if any, were displaced by the fire.
No other injuries were reported. An investigation is ongoing.
