Video: Orange 245 Pursuit - December 23rd, 2016
At approximately 7:30 PM officers from the Orange Police Department attempted to stop a white sedan occupied by a solo female occupant who was suspected of an assaulting an individual with her vehicle. The suspect failed to yield to officers and continued onto the southbound I-5 freeway where California Highway Patrol officers took over the pursuit.
With the assistance of mutual aid airships the CHP followed the vehicle on the I-5 southbound to the San Clemente area where the vehicle exited and reentered heading northbound. Ultimately the CHP executed a succesfull spike strip disabling the vehicle on the northbound I-5 just south of Newport Avenue. The female suspect was taken into custody without incident and the northbound lanes of the freeway were reopened after a brief closure.
