Santa Ana Burglary Search - May 27th, 2017

At approximately 12:00 PM Saturday evening, the Santa Ana Police Department responded to citizen reports of a burglary in progress at a business in the 2000 block of West 5th Street. Units arriving on scene met the calling parties who reported at least one individual was suspected of breaking into the property and a trailer therein. Officers set a perimeter and requested the Orange County Sheriff’s Department police helicopter, Duke-1, to assist in searching the area and giving announcement to surrender. Officers then conducted a preliminary search before entering into a standoff situation with the trailer. The incident lasted several hours however it was unclear whether any suspects were located or any arrests made. The Santa Ana Police Department is handling the investigation.
