Santa Ana Foot Pursuit Arrest - May 8th, 2017
At approximately 10:00 AM Monday morning, the Santa Ana Police Department in conjunction with the Orange County Probation Department attempted to stop an individual for unknown reasons. The individual fled on foot into a nearby warehouse complex where he stole a bicycle from a transient in attempt to further his getaway. With the assistance of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s helicopter, Duke-1, the subject was boxed in by a motor officer and unmarked probation unit forcing him to ditch the bike and flee on foot into a busy street. Once in the street officers subdued the subject, placing him into custody. It is unclear what charges he might be facing and why he was originally stopped. The Santa Ana Police Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be handling the investigation.
