Tustin Juvenile Arson Arrests - January 7th, 2016
At approximately 12:38 PM the Orange County Fire Authority responded to reports of multiple outside fires in the area of Barranca Parkway and Tustin Ranch Road near The District Shopping Center in Tustin. Both the Irvine and Tustin Police also responded to assist. Engines arriving on scene found two small fires, one at a fence adjacent to the southbound lanes of Tustin Ranch Road just north of Barranca, and another in large construction pipes stored in parking lot behind the PetSmart located at 2219 Park Avenue.
Ultimately both fires were extinguished without incident and two juveniles aging from approximately 11 to 14 years of age were arrested on suspicion of arson by the Tustin Police Department. An investigation by both the Orange County Fire Authority Fire Investigator and Tustin Police Department is expected to follow.
No further information was available for release due to the age of the suspects.
Note: At the request of law enforcement and due to the age of the suspects, their identities have been withheld.
