Tustin Armed Robbery Misunderstanding - October 13th, 2016
Officers from the Tustin and Irvine Police Departments along with the Orange County Sheriff's Department responded to calls of an armed robbery and possible active shooter at T.J. Maxx in the Tustin Marketplace Thursday evening at approximately 1:00 PM. Officers arrived and evacuated the store and surrounding businesses and found the call to be the result of a grave misunderstanding and hearsay reports. Despite this, officers detained two individuals and arrested another one on unrelated charges. No shots were fired, no gun was recovered, and no witnesses actually reported seeing a firearm personally.
